Week 1 Complete

Weight: 204.6 lbs
Muscle: 42.5%
Fat:9.6%

First week has technically gone and past. I've lost around 2 pounds! Definitely excited about that. I can't falter my efforts though -- I can't let this mean I can cheat. Discipline is a must. I was out last night with friends and didn't eat/drink any alcohol barring one shot for the birthday boy.

I'm skeptical of the body fat percentage. Anything sub 10% should be cut, if not shredded. I'm going to disregard these numbers but still keep track of them just for curiosity.

My weight fluctuates day to day, which is to be expected. I just have to believe that I'm moving forward. I can't go strictly by the numbers because I am also lifting weights -- building muscle while simultaneously losing fat can blur the numbers because muscle weighs more than fat. So I have to go by looks/pictures.

Overall, good week.. especially since there was a Christmas feast! I may do more entries, I'm still figuring out how to track my weight pushed and calorie intake. That will come later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Digital Scale

I asked Santa for a digital scale for Christmas to help monitor my weight loss -- the analog traditional scale was not cutting it. It was leaving alot of things in the dark.

Sadly, sometimes ignorance is bliss.

First time I step on it, I'm actually..
Weight: 206.2 pounds
Muscle: 42.2%
Fat: 10%
Bone: 4.2%
The rest is water.

I'm too lazy to do the math right now.

This is good though, I can really get some concrete numbers going to track my progress. I will update early next week.

First Post

Weight: 205~
Total Lifts: N/A
Total Miles: N/A

This is the beginning. The start is weird because I'm posting from after a half week, so next week will be the time where I start taking down all the notes. I have been working out just as regular -- lifting and running after, or just running. I upped my miles to up to 3 mile runs. I also notice an increase in speed and stamina... which is results of me sprinting hills over and over to the point where my legs give out/I wanna barf.

The main thing I think I have to do is just change the portions/times when I eat. I eat fairly healthy -- I just need to thin it out and eat less to create caloric deficit.

I don't know why the scale picture gets rotated, but you just gotta take my word for it. The second pic was taken today right first thing in the day without eating anything.

Here we go!

The Beginning

This blog is a lie.

At least for now -- I'm a nerd, but I'm not 185. I'm not talking 185 years old. I'm talking 185 pounds. I'm currently 205 pounds, hence why this blog is a lie. This blog will document my personal journey of weight loss.

My goal: To lose 20 pounds by April 2010, preserving as much existing muscle as I can.

This is a realistic goal, set by some easy calculations. 1-2 lbs/week is a healthy rate. With a goal of 20 pounds, this is about 10 weeks. Giving myself some leeway, I've decided April.

What this blog will contain:
-Weekly pictures
-Weekly counts of total weight moved and total miles ran

What this blog will not contain:
- Specific exercises
- Specific foods eaten
- Pictures of my junk and/or ass

So essentially this blog will only last for about 10 entries, but who knows? Maybe I'll keep going.

Follow this blog, cringe at my pudginess, idolize me, whatever. I don't really care because I'm being selfish and doing this for myself, so suck it....!
